Field trip to the Zoo

Last week while Sam was on vacation, we kept Jack out of school and went to the zoo. You can do and see alot in 2.5 hours. Ben slept the entire time. In lieu of the Hungry Hippo story below in a previous posting, it was fitting that the hippos were so actively swimming (which we were told is rare to see).

Little green snakes hatching out of eggs - Gross!

I'm just fascinated by these hippos and how active they were. The fish were nibbling at their skin, which I saw on the discovery channel (or animal planet) that they are exfoliating their skin.

Fun-fun at the zoo.

Mowing with Daddy

Jack was so excited to mow for the first time of the season with Sam. He followed right along and even mimicked Sam's moves. He was so enthralled and entertained for the entire time. It was so cute to watch.

When they finished, Jack very seriously parked his lawn mower right behind Sam's. So precious!

Jack Funnies

Hungry Hippos:

Last night, Jack pulled out his Hungry Hippos game. We're sitting on the floor about to start playing (just he and I). He held up his hand and said, "Oh, oh, wait. The hippos have to say prayers before they eat." He literally laid hands on each head, one hippo at a time and said, "Dear God, help us and nourish us, in Jesus' name, Amen." Crack me up!

Ben is 6 weeks old!

Bless little Ben's heart. He's had a rough first 6 weeks of life. He's on the mend and changing so much every day.

Apparently I'm boring him.

A tale of two completely different births

On the left we have Jack. On the right, Ben. On the left the hair is a little more crazy after 21 hours of labor, two hours of pushing, an epidural that was turned off and then a c-section. On the right; hair in place a little better after a scheduled c-section and a spinal that worked - aaahhhh!

Showing off my nieces and nephews

It's time to update. When Ben was two or three weeks old, Aunt Jen, Madison and Lauren came for a visit. I'm just now posting the pictures of that visit. I have since received some great pictures of Nicholas and Nathaniel and I had to post those; they are too cute. Nicholas is playing t-ball and it's just a scream! Enjoy!

This picture kills me! Uncle Casey mowing and the boys in tow with their ear protection (aunt Jigi and uncle Sam are so proud).

And last but not least - t-ball. Is that helmet as big as Nicholas?

This is what tired dancing looks like:

Jack is still into "Cars". He does the cutest dance during the, "Life is a Highway" song. But today he was so tired from his play date yesterday and missing his nap, he danced just a little. It was still funny - to me. I think he's also showing signs (ever-so-small) of better rhythm. Care to comment?

Look Alikes while reading

These are pictures of Jack reading and Ben reading at virtually the same age. I think they look alike here. More comparisons to come...

Late Easter Egg hunt Pictures

Easter weekend we tried to attend a Easter egg hunt at Eckert's. The line was so long that we didn't stay. Instead we took pictures with tractors and "Mater's daddy" (a truck) and the Easter bunny. It was cold and windy. The next day, (Easter), we had our own egg hunt in the yard. Here are the pictures.

We've had lots of other things going on lately, which I will update as soon as I can, but the blog has taken a back seat to life right now.

More Jack and Ben Pictures

I made Ben a tri-fold black, white and red "book" since those are the colors he can see. He loves to "read". There are also a few shots of Ben and big brother.
